BEAUTYCOUNTER
Solutions
Beautycounter’s commitment is to provide solutions with safer high performing products. Their health and safety standards goes well beyond what’s required by U.S. law. They’ve banned the use of more than 1,500 questionable or harmful chemicals through the "Never List”— all the while ensuring the products perform. The EU bands approximately 1,400, Canada bans 600 while the United States only bans 30. That's right only 30.
More than 85,000 chemicals have been introduced to the market since WWII. You'd think the FDA has control over how the industry is regulated. Companies can use chemicals known to be extremely harmful in products we use every day. I am comforted to know that each batch of product is third-party triple-tested for safety and in compliance with their high standards. Beautycounter believes in transparency – all the ingredients are disclosed and explained in their Ingredient Glossary.

Eduation
Beautycounter is a brand focused on safer products and education and they do this with a foundation based on transparency. They work to explain the reasons behind their positions and decisions through their mission statement. By sharing all of this information with their customers, they can in turn make educated purchasing decisions.
Beautycounter will always aim to educate through the sharing of information. With an unregulated industry, it can create a very confusing marketplace. With so many complicated topics, it is important to communicate effectively with as much context as possible. Transparency has been a guiding principle of Beautycounter since it started in March of 2013. They have remained dedicated to this while they grow and continue to develop safer products for the whole family.
Advocacy
Since day one, Beautycounter decided to be forthright and outspoken in their advocacy efforts. This approach not only applies to the ways they engage politicians and lawmakers, but also to the broader community of Clients and Consultants with whom they openly share their policy positions, legislative priorities, and upcoming actions.
Beautycounter's belief to be successful, is that a company’s clients and consumers must be given the opportunity to actively participate in the social change the company is working toward. Beautycounter is not just a beauty brand, they are a movement. And I am working to create the change I want to see in the industry.
